If you are in the ABC program you should know about what to expect from merit shop contractors. As a power lineman I’m assuming that you are interviewing with a public utility rather than a contractor. Most public utility lineman are represented by a union that negotiates on behalf of its members. The work is all outside and in all sorts of weather. You can expect to be called out at night, and weekends to repair storm damages. The power level is deadly, but public utilities are noted for having very effective safety practices and the very best equipment. If you are an outside kinda guy line work may be just the occupation for your . Private Sector Power Line Construction companies usually cover a large territory. Working conditions depend on the company and very widely. Frequent travel should be expected. Check out this website for more info: http://brassmein.com/jobs/electrician.htm -
