Coal mining-HIGH PAY??

I keep hearing about how these coal miners are high paid..is this like high pay..something like 12-15 per hour for a bunch of high school drop outs..or is it more like 120-150 per hour and these guys make a couple hundred thousand per year and are all engineers?
