Keep calling, everyday. Same thing happened to me when i got my job at Publix. later on I became manager. (i dont work there anymore) They will start remembering you and know you are very interested in the job, so once a current employee quits or gets fired they will tell you to come on in for an interview

Why are you limiting yourself to these two stores? I would be well groomed and dressed to go to Winn Dixie in person and ask for the hiring manager. Have a plan, act with confidence that you would be an asset to any employer. After Winn/Dixie apply at other retail stores and ask friends and family if they know of anyone hiring. How about outdoor work - construction, landscaping, etc.? If this is a part time job, think about what you are interested in - for example - if you like animals, maybe a veterinarian or pet store is hiring. Think outside the box.
When looking for a job you are selling yourself to an employer. Always present yourself in the best light.
Good luck.

Try tracing your foot on a piece of freezer paper-the big white stuff. Color it in and add notes about how you now have your foot in the door & how dependable you are, courtious, kind to the elderly, clean and neat. Make sure your name & phone number are all over the page. You'll get attention, they will remember your name and the next time they need someone you will be the first one that comes to mind because they will talk about the one that sent the foot. It could be the start of a beautiful relationship. I'd go with Publix though-Winn Dixie won't be around much longer.
