2 Questions: Im a certified nurse aide I have an interview Monday at a Hospital what do I wear scrubs or?
Asked by jordynorr
or casual clothes? During the interview i know they're gonna ask about my previous jobs. one i quit with no notice(actually no call no show) and I moved I usually put Moved as my reason for leaving the last one. and the one before that i quit because me and the supervisor didnt get along so i put supervisor conflict on my application for that one. She was just always down my neck (prejudice I believe- i wasnt the only black person that quit but the supervisor was fired and everyone that quit while she was there got to come back to work) but what do i say about that job without being to negative. I never know what to say and i dont want it to cost me the job?????

don't use any negative reasons for anything. I had to resign because of a chance to better myself in a private duty postion or I had family issues and family comes first. NEVER say you didn't get along with a supervisor because even though the supervisor might have been a jack***, or just didn't get along with any of the staff, bite your tongue and be as professional as you can. They won't check . Places need you so bad it hurts. Good luck and as far as what to wearI --just wear something that matches and you feel comfortable in, if that is scrubs than so be it. Wear scrubs, they look professional.

Hi, well done on getting the interview! I would be careful about discussing your reasons for leaving the last job as an employer may think the conflict was due to you personally. Make sure you are not unpleasant about your supervisor as they may think you could be unpleasant about them in the future! You could say there was conflict due to your supervisor not giving you enough responsibilities, or asking you to do things outside of your skills, or just say there was a clash of personalities and this made working together stressful, different styles of working, different values, that sort of thing. You could say that the supervisor was fired due to her attitude as this shows it was not your fault. Tell them you enjoyed your job but not the atmosphere at work. Make sure you say you generally easy going and get on with most people as the future employer might think you are difficult to work with. As for clothing, personally I would always wear casual clothes to an interview as it gives the interviewer the chance to see you as a 'real person', it gives them an idea of your personality, for example if you wore a pair of old jeans and a t-shirt they would think that you dont care, but if you wear a casual suit or dress it gives an impression of professionalism and that you care about presentation. I hope you got a good reference from your last job because employers rely a lot on this and could mean the difference between getting the job or not. It's never a good idea to quit with no notice as no-one will give a favourable reference for that unfortunately. Good luck on Monday!

Generally, most people who are in human resources say that scrubs are not acceptable for interviews. Nice business casual is mandatory with impeccable grooming. You worked hard to get this interview--you want every possible ace in your corner so dress as they say, for success.
