How many people per class in truck driving school?
Asked by noelgallagherowns

Class sizes vary depending on how many people apply, but trucking schools will maximize the size of the classes as much as possible. If you choose to go for your class A and find a company with a school, you will now be required to contract with that company for 6 months to 2 yrs depending on the company to pay back your tuition, if you quit before the contract time is up, you will have to pay the balance owed. Either way, the best cdl schools are community college trucking courses. These courses are usually a little longer than regular trucking schools and can find you financial assistance if needed. If you are looking for one on one instruction, most schools do not offer that though they will assist you if you are having problems. In any case, most schools only teach you how to pass the license tests and the very basics, your real training will be after you get to the company you plan to work for with a trainer and then on your own. Good luck!

When I went to truck driving school long ago for my CDL A there were apx 30 students in the class during the 1st week of classroom assignments. During the second week we were split into smaller groups, 2 students per trainer while actually driving for the day. Some trucking schools will have a large bench seat in the sleeper cab, and have 4-5 students per trainer. Before you spend a pile of money for CDL training, do your research. There are some trucking companies that own their own school and will train you free, or reimburse you for training costs. Got mine free at Schneider National (800) 44 PRIDE in Green Bay, Wisconson. They paid for my travel from Texas, motel, 2 meals a day and trained at their school. I am now with a different company, earn avg. $45,000-$65,000. Thats just depending on how much I work, besides my other business ventures. Get your CDL A, it will bring you many more opportunities and better $$$$ than a CDL B. Best wishes!!!!
