What can I say in an interview that I am ready to go from Assistant manager to manager?
Asked by Jemmiekins
I use to work there before as a sales assistant, now I've been an assistant manager the area manager came to me and asked if I'd heard of the manager vacancy. I'm young and never been a manager, the department I'm assistant manager of is much bigger and takes much more money. I know I'm much more than capable of doing the job. But how do I convice her. I'm young, not been manager before. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

You should be able to answer this question yourself after you sit down and take stock of your accomplishments while you've been an assistant manager. List what you've learned, how you've grown and adapted, and especially what challenges you've faced and how you've solved them. Go into the meeting armed with this information and you will show maturity and forethought...essential qualities in a manager.

When i went for supervisor at my job i was interviewed by 3 people at one time. Make sure who ever asks u a question u look them straight in the eye while answering their question. Answer each question to the best of ur ability. If there is some thing u arent sure of then simply state i may not know that right now but i learn quickly just give me a chance and i can show u. I made supervisor after only 5 months on the job.

Go into the meeting and know your worth. Meaning, make a list of your current accomplishments (eg. working with larger staff and budget; Did you reach or meet any department goals?; Did you save the company money, etc.). Let them know what your plans would be as manager, basically, how they will benefit by making you manager.

It might depend on the country you are in but these ideas should help you; a; you are energetic b; you are loyal c; you understand the company d; you can make these immediate contributions as a manager and you are ready to go to college to study the science of management. and tell the manager what your strenghts are and your weaknesses and what you are doing to off-set your weaknesses.

Wow - if the area manager told you that, then you have a good reference right there. Use the area manager's words to imply that you are right for the job. All jobs are learning experiences. So what if you don't exactly know what to do right now? Tell them you are interested in growing in the position, and want to continue developing within the company.

Every interview consists of basically the same types of questions. 1. What are your strenghts? 2. What are your weaknesses? 3. Tell us about a time you were recognized for excellence and what you did? 4. What will you bring to this team? 5. Why do you want this position? 6. What experience do you have? 7.What do you think this job entails? 8. Tell about a time you were put on an unreasonable deadline and how you made it? Respnd truthfully to questions. Do not sound arroant. Keep answers short and sound confident and knowledgable. Ask for clarification if you do not understand something. At the end of the interview, ask your own questions.
