Would you accept a job in your field if it payed way less than you currently make but it was for a purpose?
Asked by familymomwife
I have been offered the job of church preschool teacher. It works out that I can do both my current job and this. However, at the new job I will get payed signficantly less. Would you get payed less than you normally would accept for a higher purpose?

Lay teaching is a great deal like social work and both, almost always, involve a compromise of your practicality. If it doesn't require extra time without pay, then it's salary.
Could you negotiate your normal salary and tithe the balance back to the church as a pre-payment deduction? Even if you had to pay tax on it, wouldn't the donation be a personal tax credit? Good Luck.

I would not. Your priorities may differ.

Absolutley Yes!.... Being a church preschool teacher is a great opportunity to serve the LORD! Granted it pays less, but by serving the Lord in this way your reward is in heaven and that's far more greater than ANY amount of money. My advice is to take the opportunity to serve the children in the church...and at the same time use your talent and gift to bless the LORD. He will provide just what you need.
