Whats a fair offer to handle sales/marketing for the west coast operations of a small jeans brand.?
Asked by GrassRoot_Marketing
I was offered an opportunity to handle the west coast operations. It is to entail east coast sales and marketing/branding. The company is small but growing. I understand that my marketing/branding solutions would assist in creating a brand identity. What is a good offer for this position. I was thinking 30% commission. There is no salary involved... straight commission. Should i offer my marketing services on the side? Should there be increases on top of the 30% based on exceeding goals? and how much would be fair? thanks guys/gals....

You should be salaried for your marketing expertise (at least $50,000 annually). I think you have the right idea about the commission. A fair increase or bonus on top of commissions would be to have either a quarterly or annual bonus based on the percentage you went over your expected goals. Maybe something like 6 - 10% of total earnings for the quarter should be your bonus.
