What is required by the state to become a family home daycare assistant?

Im looking to apply for the opening at my sons daycare to become the licensee's assistant other than live scanning are their any other requirements? this is for a daycare located in california.. also what is the typical pay if im bringing my son with me? I currently pay 165.00 a week to have him in the daycare... any help would be greatly appreciated
