How to get my foot in the door with purchasing?

Hello. I currently work as a broker (bar code equipment) for a Japanese paper company. I'd say I spend about 25% of my time trying to build profit by negotiating with suppliers. Recently a career counselor suggested I look into purchasing, which is something I've had a passing interest for a long time. My question is how to get my foot in the door as a full time buyer. My dream migft be to be an outside buyer with internationa travel. Thank you in advance

Ask the career counselor. :-)

Unless you have the skill for the perticular job, how cananyone tell you how to go about it. eg: chef's experieince would make you a buyer for a hotel chain.

Save your money once you feel you have enough assets after inquiring with the party involved.Keeping in mind economy/inflation is constantly rising.
