What experience do you get from Child Care (Babysitting) ?
Asked by Nikki H
I need to write down what type of experience I attained from babysitting... and I can't think of any that might apply to a Sales Associate position...well I can think of some but they're pretty lame.

well, thumbs up to all the girls for their inventiveness of speech! Patience is what came to mind too. hope you get the job.

The first word I think of is patience. If you work in any kind of customer service, this is a necessary skill. There is also creativity, b/c I'm sure you did crafts or played games with these children. Creativity may come in handy when it's time to put out a new display on the floor. You can help contribute your ideas. You're definitely reliable and responsible if someone let you watch their children. If I think of something else, I'll write more. Good luck!!!

Pretty scary. My friend's baby got a burt finger last month. You better find a child care center that is close to your work so that you can drop in and visit your baby at your break or lunch. Care givers in child care will be more careful about your baby if you will appear "anytime".

Your babysitting does not apply on a job application. It is not an official job even though I wish it was. If you write that down, you proably won't get the job. Just explain that you have no previous work. They will understand

Time management ( time for ......cleaning up, bed, dinner, homework, getting in the car) ,
communication skills (let's touch your sister a little more gently like this, here's a better way to eat that),
product positioning (this dinner's delicious, I like this TV show, you're going to love this, I'll share if you come over here).
merchandising (if you take three bites, I'll read you the story)
