Do sales rep have to bring samples of an apparel line they represent?

Do sales reps have to bring around samples of all the items in an apparel line they represent or just one or two pieces and the rest they can just show on pictures? Or possibly just pictures? There are also lines with way too many pieces to bring them all around. Do very established companies as well as startup firms receive the same treatment? How does it usually work? Thanks!

It depends on what you are selling. For us it works best when our sales people present a sample of some of the items we carry as well as providing pictures of items that we will be working on. Pick the best items you think will best fit the particular buyer not every buyer is interested in all of your items so, you have to choose the items that best fit the buyer or store. it depends on who you are selling to....I mean like if you're selling something like say for example Avon, and Avon has lots of different products then it's understandable that you can't bring some of them all, so you bring tiny samples and a catalog..........if you're selling pharmaceuticals then you bring freebies to give to the doctor while you take them to lunch....if you're selling a line of clothing and it's catalog sales then just bring the catalog......but if you're more of a person selling to the buyer of a company then they would probably ask for swatches and you'd probably be selling only specific pieces but in different colors so just pictures or a designed sheet with the pictures and styles (and prices) would be appropriate.
