Career Questions and Answers
When an interviewer ask me, do you have transportation?
Asked by sweetbev@sbcglobal.net
I don't own a car yet and I usually take the metro bus to go any where around the city. Or go shopping. I can't lie to the interviewer that I have a car. Help, I just don't know what to answer to get hired.

you can tell them that you take other means of transportation rather then having acar. They can't not hire you b/c you don't have a car unless you need to do driving like as a delivery person. so just be honest

Be honest...just say not at this time. But the metro bus is always on schedule and I ride it faithfully. You will not have a problem with me getting to work even if I dont have a vehicle. I am a good hard worker and dedicated to my jobs. I will be here everytime and on time.

Just be honest. If the job doesn't require you to own a car, you should be fine.
You can say that despite of the fact that you don't own a car, you are always on time and know how to get around the areas you need to be.

Tell them that you don't have a car yet or that you prefer to use the bus to help the environment. You know ,be one less car on the road

Just be truthful about it-let him know that you can't afford a car YET and that the metro bus is very reliable where you live. You can also mention that you have a friend or family member that can give you a ride in case of emergencies (only if that is true) You don't want to get started on the wrong foot by lying to the potential employer about something as simple as transportation. Remember, he's human too and can probably relate to finances & how expensive automobiles are. Good luck!
