do y'all know anything about oilfield jobs , have a friend in it ?

any observations ,experiences , knowledge etc .........i have a relative trying to go to work in the business , sounds dangerous

good pay, hard work, long hours, long stretches away from home matched with equal home time. Dangerous, as you say. If you are young and in good shape, good way to stash away some bucks (unless you spend them partying during your home time)

I've had friends in the oil field... very tough work, but the pay is very good... you have to be able to balance things... a lot of alcohol and drug use from what I hear... but if your relative has their head on straight, they could do it for awhile and save a lot of money.
