I would find out what bookkeepers are working for in your area. Look in the newspaper and see what you can get a job for. Let's say, $10.00 an hour. Then multiply that by 2.5. That's what I would charge per hour ($25.00). I started my own bookkeeping company from my home and I am charging $20.00 an hour. If I had an office in town I would charge $25.00 to $30.00 an hour. I just left my job as a staff accountant at a CPA firm and I made $10.00 an hour while they charged $35.00 an hour for my bookkeeping services. Some clients on a fixed monthly fee where more like $45.00 an hour.
