As an employer, what is the worst part of recruiting good employees and going through the hiring process?

I am a recruiter and would like to help my clientele as much as possible. What do I need to know, that maybe I haven't thought of, to make your hiring process easier?

One of my personal frustrations is when interviewing contractors and we receive 20 nearly identical resumes that have been reworded to meet what the recruiter thinks our requirements are - only to find out during interviews that the candidate has no experience in the areas in question, or that the candidate doesn't even know the location of companies where he/she supposedly worked previously. It's fine to make suggestions to candidates on what to include but rewording to get through automated screening software only makes our job of reviewing resumes much more tedious and takes many more phone interviews.

One thing is trying to check on references. With the legal situation the way it is, it is frustrating to be able to only get the dates worked, and the pay scale. Occasionally, I will be able to get them to say whether or not they would re-hire this person, but usually not.

One of the things you need to do is find out the requirements of the job in terms of skills, educational background and match this with your current pool of applicants. Interview only those who meet the requirements so you don't waste your time and the time of your clients. This will also build your credibility to your client.
