Can I transfer to a different department at work?
Asked by help me plz
I just recently got my first job at Walmart and found that cashiering has too much pressure (being in a hurry for a big line, helping all the customers, rude people, etc.) is there any way I can transfer to the Mcdonalds (in the same building)? What do I say to my manager? I've been working here for 3 weeks.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

While Wal-Mart has a contractual agreement with McDonalds (and other fast food franchises) they have no control over who McDonalds hires nor are the McDonalds staff Wal-Mart employees. With this in mind you can't simply transfer into the McDonalds, you'd have to apply for a job like everyone else. What you could do is talk to your Dept Manager, ASM, or Store Manager and ask to be transferred to a different department within Wal-Mart, such as electronics. Will it happen? That's up to store management and they are under no obligation to move you simply because you feel uncomfortable. Remember, there's no more pressure on you as a cashier as there is on anyone else. You may want to look into some stress relief courses to help.

You can't transfer between Walmart and McDonalds, they are two different companies. If you want to work for McDonalds, apply for a job there.
