Mold Maker?
Asked by mat F
I am currently employed as a mold maker and was recently offered a job as a die maker. I had studied die making in earlier years, however when i got a job as a mold maker I was told the two were similar. I really don't see that many similarities to the two, other than mold making is requires much more precision. Anyways what is a better proffesion a die maker or mold maker, in terms of pay, job security and future outlook?

hey, forget both jobs and find something else... This trade is dying in singapore. If you really found a tool job, the company might shift away to china or somewhere else. In the end back to square one. Simply waste of time... Do consider..

They are both good, and if you have skills in both you are miles ahead. The details are different, but the basic skills of precision machine setup and process planning are very similar.
