If you are an engineering student or graduate, what would you like to know about a potential employer?
Asked by emble1974
I am a copywriter and have been asked to think about some ways of presenting a client to potential graduate employees. The client is a major construction company and has five minutes to present their company in a video using a question and answer type interview format but they want to present the information in an inspirational and appealing way. If you are a recent graduate or a current engineering student, would you prefer to see a video presented by someone near to your own age or someone further along the potential career path? Also, would you prefer to see them out on site, in the office, at home, relaxing with friends? As an engineering student or graduate, what are the most important things you are considering in terms of finding a job? Are you driven by career opportunities, salaries, reputation of the company, international opportunities, types of projects, etc.? Any advice would be great as I am not familiar with this market.

as an engineering grad long ago i would have been over the moon just to get the job. You hold the key to their future so anything you decide on is fine. there will be many of them and only one of you so you call the shots. I think seeing the site is a great idea but if its too time consuming go for powerpoint presentations or videos. they will be more scared of u than u are of them.
