Alltel or Olive Garden?

Ok so I am currently working for alltel selling phones. Its a pretty god job there is potential to make good money. I make seven an hour plus commision but I also have to wait a month to get paid for it. Its not guaranteed on the commission cuz I work @ the mall and times are really slow.Also its really boring. I was just offered a job as a server @ the busiest Olive Garden in town to work evenings thurs-Sunday, which I already do @ alltel. I have never served before but I think its something I would be really good at. I have exceptional customer service skills and I am competent at learning any job. Im not sure what might be the best decision and I need your advice. Please help....... Also I am currently In college full time, work full time, and the olive garden is for only 30 hours a week.. . . any info on how much a server might make there would be greatly appreciated as well.

I just ended my Friday night shift at the OG...Not so hot, and those kind of nights can pop up at any time. Being offered a weekend nights shift job from the OG is highly unusual, and they may soon start scheduling you day shifts and whatnot, they sway often from what you are told when you are hired in.... On a typical weekend (like my last, not this one), this is a summary of my tips. Thursday Night 4-10 - $70 Friday Night 4-11 - $ 120 Saturday Night 4-11 - $125 Sunday Night, 4-10 - $65 training for this takes at least one week, and you will be on a 2 table section for a week after training (your upgraded to a 3 table section afterwards, and will never have more then that). training sucks, you have to know the food and the wine up and down, and if you havnt ever served before, you get to learn how to run your butt off, avoid running people over every 2 seconds, and how to carry a tray... I'd opt for Olive Garden. You can make a lot of money in tips if you are as customer oriented as you say.

Go for the OG - you'll probably make $20 or $30 per hour there.

honey don't even think it twice....go to the Olive Garden... in a weekend you'll be making at least $100.00 just working 8 hrs... probably more than what you're making now...OG is a good place to work and money is sooo good

Serving isn't boring. It sucks but it isn't boring. OG is great for serving though. It closes pretty early and you have almost no sidework at the end of the night. Expect to make about 400-500 in 30 hours in you work the schedule you say.
