Should I call back after my job interview?
Asked by skg20051
I had a job interview this past Wednesday for a housekeeping position at a local hospital, they said they would let me know something, should I call the lady back? If so what should I say, I don't want to be annoying. Thanks.

Absolutely! It shows, you're very interested, and that you follow through. It sounds as though, you really want this job, and it does not hurt to let them know, in a kind manner. You could call the person you spoke with, and be very happy, and ask how her day is going? As that shows, you care about others. Then, just mention, you enjoyed meeting with her, and just wanted to let her know you are very interested in the position! Maybe mention one of the things you were impressed about during your interview. Then, let her talk. Just be your happy self, keep it nice and simple.Thank her, for her time... Then..... wish her a great weekend!
I followed up, for TWO MONTHS! Finally, was hired yesterday! I called every week, or two, and was always very happy. I, said I was just checking, to see how things were going. I always wished him a good day. This is not normal, to wait for a job this long! It's cost me a lot! Financially. However, they had a person in the Dept. they had to get a lot of proof together, before letting them go! Best of luck to you! Remember, be your happy upbeat self ok? You have a nice weekend as well! Things will work out for you ok? They always have a way of doing so.......Take Care...Sharon Kay

I would get a thank you card in the mail ASAP just saying "thanks for taking time to meet with me. I enjoyed hearing about the position and touring your facility. If you need any further information or references from me, please let me know." Or something like that. Then I would call them next wednesday to ask if they had made a decision regarding the housekeeping position. Good Luck!
