If you had a choice between picking a job based on salary.?
Asked by John
1. Starting salary $18.65 per hour its a driving job (regular route pick up passenger and drop off) great pension and benefits. After 3 years it goes up to $26.00
2.Second option starting salary $22.00 per hour another driving position however this one entails manual labor. Delivering supply, and general warehouse work. Great benefits.
which one would you pick? I know this may sound like a silly question, however I'm not one that can say I make great decision.

I'd pick the second job.
The reason the first company is offering such a raise after 3 years is that they don't have to pay it. If you don't quit before then, they figure out a way to fire you.

Either one sounds good. Really pends on your age since you mentioned pension. How long at either job would you need towork to receive. At $22.00 you need to be fit and healthy for the job. While the money sounds nice you bet some of that money will goto gym membership. You never mentioned if job number 2 will jump in salary after so many years.
So my first choice would be job number one. 18.65 is a good wage for middle class start salary. My only caution is the 26.00 in 3 years. Chances are you may already receive that in 3 years if you take job number 2 but again those are just numbers. Questions is how tired are you going to be after each job.
IF you are fit-take job number 2
If you goto happy our everyday, then take job one
