For a mechanical engineer, Houston or Atlanta?

I'm trying to decide between two job opportunities in mechanical engineering R&D, one in Houston and one in Atlanta. I have relatives in Atlanta and would be nice to live close to them, but my impression is that the engineering job market there is weak

If you are young, follow the places with better opportunities. Personally, neither city seems to be head and shoulders above the other. But Houston may have a bit of a lead given its proximity to NASA, the oil drilling industry, etc.
