ReBoUrNe
Can I apply to be a police officer, eventhough my drivers license was suspented in the past?
Asked by ReBoUrNe
Well, I'm looking to apply for a police officer position. And one of the questions on the applications states they'll review my driving record. Now, a couple of years ago my license was suspended for 12 months. Non-alcoholic, nor wreckless driving record. Can it be possible to still be hired, eventhough my license was suspended for none of the reasons listed above? Thanks for your replies. So, I'm guessing when they perform a background check. My drivers record would appear. Thus showing my suspended drivers license in the past. correct? I guess, there's really no point in neglecting the question when I apply.

Best Answer:
Yes, as long as the suspension was not related to a felony conviction.

It depends on the reason, and what you have done since then. Keep in mind that just as the best way to learn it to teach, the best way to help people in trouble spots is to have been there yourself -- and they know this. If you have a long rap sheet, and the suspended license is just one of a long list of things, you aren't likely to get any where. IF, however, you made a mistake and have since not only moved beyond your mistake, but excelled, you have an excellent chance.
