Part time job at a jewlery store? Anyone with actual experience?
Asked by Bre
I am currently a full time personal banker M-F. I make decent money but am looking for a part time job to start saving more. Would a jewlery store be a good place to work? I have a lot of experience with sales being in banking. I would only be looking to work on the weekends.
How much does someone in this field make typically? (part time) I live in Minneapolis, MN if that helps! Any other tips from someone who actually works at a jewlery store? That would be great!

I worked in a jewelry store for like 5 years.....The store I worked at didnt pay commission...The thing was...sometimes always easy...It depends on what type of customers walk into the store....Be careful..When gold is high....sales are fairly low.....So, if you get a job, and it pays comission...You might not make much..(as of right now, gold is at an all time high)....Stores will welcome clean decent looking people to work for them on the weekends.....Reason being is because there are alot of customers and they pay comission....Always look for a store that has a gold smith on site..This way, sales go up because rings can be sized right away, stones can be set right away, jewelry can be polished right away....etc etc...
I worked in my friends store which had liquidable assets in excess of 10 million......

$8 or so an hour. They'll be glad to have you weekends, because most people want the weekends off.
If you're good at selling, jewelry is a good business. Usually pays commission, so you might make considerably more............if you're good.
