Not at all a pipe dream. A good carpenter is almost guaranteed a living. You will need to brush up a bit on your language skills and take some business courses to learn how to properly operate a contracting company. It's assumed you've got carpentry skills here, I assume you do or you would not ask. You spend a few years apprentice to a Master Carpenter (yes they have a degree for it) and as you develop your skills you can take on side work for yourself. In a few years you can get licensed as a Master Carpenter and become a partner to a Home Building company. You could rise to foreman and then manager and by then have enough skill and business acumen to launch your own firm. At that point , you're only 35 and have a company with 50 employees and an accounting department to count your money while you go fishing! Go for it!

If it's in your heart, go for it.

Yes it's atrade you can laways use. In spare time you can make stuff and sell it. As long as American Presidents force Israel to give up land there will be plenty of business as everytime they down that we get hit by earthquakes, fires, hurricanes, etc. The big one a couple of years ago hit when they pulled out of Gaza and Rita hit twoweeks later when the last pulled out of the targeted West Bank settlements.
