Is it possible to have 2 jobs as a Police Officer?

I was planning about being a Police Officer and a part time Security Officer lol,is that possible? Thanks for your answers!! (i dont know if im in the right category to ask this question btw)

Yes.

you could, but usually you can get all the overtime you could want with whatever agency you work for. Not to mention you'd be earning time and a half. Figure $24 an hour the first year as a Police officer (average in the west coast), time and a half would be $36 an hour. Your not likely going to make that doing security.

Yes it is possible i know several people doing it. I am a 911 dispatcher and police do not do it for the money but for the love of the job because they sure don't make big money at least not in the south were i live. You would have to check with your agency to see if it is approved. Some consider it a conflict of interest to have two similar jobs

most if not all agencies will require that you submit a request for part time so they can approve it. They do not want any conflict of interest. Also most agencies set the rate for the officer
