Naza, I know this may not be the answer that you want to hear but the only person who should make such an important decision in your life is YOU. Why would you want someone who doesn't know anything about your goals and desires to choose something so important for you that YOU will have to deal with? Only you know what is in your heart, what goals you would like to reach and what is most important to you in your life. There are many things to consider in this decision, such as, is money the most important, is time with family more important, is it more important that you have a job you enjoy as opposed to more pay? You are the only one who knows the answers to these questions and you have to be the one to make the final decision on the direction you want to take in your life. Try this, sit down and make a list of your options. Do this in a columnar pad and under each option, list all of the things that appeal to you about that career. Then, list all of the drawbacks about that career. Carefully weigh each option and see which one you think will be most suitable for you. There is no right or wrong choice. If you choose one and later find it is not right for you then change your direction. It is never too late to change anything in your life that does not produce the results that you want. If you don't like the outcome, simply change the recipe until you create the results that you prefer. I don't mean to sound critical of you posting your question here but even with all of the great suggestions you will receive here, in the end, it is up to you to decide what you can live with and what you want to do with your life. If you would like some tips on how to weigh your pros and cons, feel free to email me with your questions and I will be glad to assist you in making your chart, what questions to ask, things of that nature. I wish you all the best in whatever path that you choose! Bonnie Ramsey bonnieram1962@yahoo.com

You'll have better benefits, higher pay, and a retirement plan as an elementary school teacher. In addition, you'll have school holidays off -- a definite plus if you have or want children of your own.

A teacher - if of course you want to work with small children. It will offer better pay and benefits, not to mention the time off. Vet Tech is a great job if you love animals, but at least in my area, it pays about 20-25% lower than the teaching position. Good luck with whatever you choose.
