Getting a visual merchandiser job?
Asked by MonkeyGirl
I dont have any retail experience at all. I've only been a waitress before. I see the job offered in tha paper and was wondering if its an easy job to get. I'm worried cause I have very very little work experience but I'm a crafty person with a great imagination and I think I could do ok. Is this a hard job to get??

OK, you have a great imagination, that is probably one of the biggest requirements. I worked a JC Penney's in the past. They basically made displays that caught peoples attention to the merchandise. It seemed like a fun job, because you were always creating, and seemed to have some freedom. (As long as it looked good, it was cool with the boss) As a matter of fact, with the Christmas season coming up, the stores like Sears, Penney's, etc.. hire seasonal help, that can lead to full time employment. But you need to get in before Thanksgiving, when it officially starts (although they seem to be starting sooner!) check out the link, I hope it helps. Good luck!
