What is in your contract? The sales coach can recommend for your termination or dismissal.

I dont think it would be the training coach...unless your still in the training process. It should be up to your manager, or human resourses.

Anyone with the authority. If she is a supervisor of some kind of member of management, I'm sure she can fire you, or recommend that you be fired.
In any case, if it comes down to her against some trainee with bad money management, you will lose.
I'd suggest you be more careful with your till.

Ususally its a hand in hand thing with HR... they have guidelines and if you fall into those guidelines, they notify HR and HR will allow them to let you go...

Because Kmart is a large retailer, they probably have a 3 "warning" plan like most places do. First warning would be verbal, second warning would be a written (which would include the reason you were written up and what will happen if it happens again), and the third would either be another write-up leading to a suspension or a termination. I'm sure everything needs to be documented, and they would probably have you sign it to prove that you were spoken to about your infraction.
Check your employee handbook to be sure because verbal threats of being fired by someone who doens't have the authority to do so may not even be legal where you live.

Your direct supervisor can make a recommendation depending on the strong evidence she/he has to do so. HR, could be involved also since they make the rules and polices. Some companies have to have written reprimands that they must bring to your attention and go over with you. Then you sign it. Some company let you go after 3 reprimands. It all depends on the circumstances. If you are handling money and shortage occur frequently....look out!

Every place is different and the owners can deligate anyone they want to make those decisions, if you are unsure that this woman should be even threatening your job go above her head. I would talk to homever offered you your job....and being short on your register is a big deal maybe you should quit worrying about your sales coach and worry about how to fix this situation to keep your job! Because if shes not really allowed to let you go, she can tell the person who can and get you fired either way...

actually both... Sales coach sounds like a fluffier title to manager.... She could have the capability to fire you so if you still want your job then count your change properly... She doesn't need manager approval or human resources... As long as she follows the manual....

Depends upon the organization. Some companies don't allow direct floor supervisors to fire because of personal conflicts. Check with the H.R. manager and you should get a straight answer. If not, seek out a District Manager for your answers.
