Some people/companies will have them actually being the same, but in reality they are slightly different. A "Drafter" is an individual skilled in design communication. But, a drafter rarely has input into the actual design. A "Technician" is usually the "next step" up. They have a bit more technical experience and typically think a bit more on their feet. They are not a "designer" or "job captain" or "project manager", but usually are still more familiar with the product they are drawing than an entry level Drafter.
Drafter, designer, project manager, and adviser in the architectural and drafting fields for nearly 20 years.
