If you work in the child care profession or day care.....?

Im trying to figure out how far I can go with my job. I just started at a day care and I love it but I'm not making very much money. I was wondering if you felt comfortable telling me how much each of you makes. I know its not right to ask someone that but Im really only needing this for my career path "research." I love kids and working with them so I really want to know if I can afford to continue to do so. Thank you for any responses.

I owned a day care for many years. Most of our employees with a high school education started at minimum wage and worked as teacher's assistants or kitchen employees. Our teachers were paid on par with public school teachers.
