Just paperwork and attention-to-detail questions.

You will be asked, after they have read your resume, of course:
How familiar are you with the title and vehicle transfer laws, requirements and necessary documentation needed to successfully register and title a new or used vehicle in our state?
Have you or are you experienced in Reynolds & Reynolds, ADP, AutoMate or other dealership business software?
Are you a notary?
And, as the car business is in the tank since 9/11, will you work for nearly nothing?
Being a title clerk at a dealership means taking care of the title paperwork every time a vehicle is sold or acquired. It involves filing titles and registrations but also re titling vehicles taken in trade, and titling and registering new vehicles arriving from the manufacturer. You will be the inventory keeper of the dealerships' largest assets, their cars.
A successful dealership buys and sells about a hundred cars per month. You will be busy. And dealerships are hungry to sell. Don't be surprised if you are asked to fly the paperwork through at a moments' notice or suddenly have the salesman at your door at four forty five asking you to stay so he can close a deal.
