Career Questions and Answers

Lisa C
Can I get a job as an Ultrasound tech with felonies?
Asked by Lisa C
I have 4 felonies (Possession, possession w/intent, contraband, and conspiracy) all are almost 10 years old (convicted in 1999) and happened at the same time. I am thinking of going to school for ultrasound tech but don't want to waste the money if I won't be able to get a job. I live in Pennsylvania by Philadelphia.

Check with your states licensing requirements. Some of the schools tell you to check with an attorney before applying.

A:
Yes, it will be a waste of money. No hospital is going to hire you (or even allow you to do clinicals) especially with drug convictions. If it's been 10 years, and you have substantially improved your life, you can contact your local STATE Senator and see if you can possibly be placed on a potential pardon list with the governor's office in your state. That is the only way.
