Does anyone know where the IRS sends the trainees to train for seasonal positions?
Asked by NJFunGirl
Hopefully I am one of the individuals selected for the seasonal position but they mentioned in the interview that I would have to go away for one week to training and wanted to know if anyone did this last year or earlier this year and knew where they send the trainees?

It varies. Might be the state capital, or a regional office serving several states. If going to training is going to prevent you from taking this job, you aren't ever going to get ahead. Completing and accomplishing training is a "resume" type accomplishment. Get your personal life in order before you step out and get a job with benefits and longevity. Your hotel/meals will be paid for, to some extent. So it shouldn't cost you out-of-pocket. Good luck. Just remember, if you aren't selected this time, keep applying. Once you get in on a tempory position with the gov't, it makes getting hired permanent much easier.
