What jobs can you get with an Associate's Degree in Health Services Administration?
Asked by virgo85nyc
I just started college in September. I am going to school to get my Associate's Degree in Health Services Administration. I was just wondering what jobs I could get with it. Where would be the best place to get a job: hospital, doctor's office, etc.? Where would offer more security? Which would offer better benefits and pay?

I will be taking the bachelors program of that degree also, and the degree is supposed to be the administrator of the hospital but you have to have at least a Masters degree for that position I believe. But with an associate degree you can probably be a supervisor over a specific department in the hospital, clinic, etc. like admitting supervisor, medical records supervisor, medical billing supervisor, etc. Best security would probably be a hospital for pay and benefits. Hospital Administrative Assistant Hospital Business Office Manager Managed Care Negotiator Hospice Director Hospital Administrative Assistant Hospital Business Office Manager Hospital Contract Analyst Hospital Patient Admissions Manager Managed Care Negotiator Medical Group Manager Medicare Billing Specialist Nursing Home Administrator Patient Accounts Representative Public Health Analyst Respite Care Director Retirement Community Assistant Administrator Voluntary Health Agency Director Volunteer Services Coordinator

managing health records - in a hospital. usually you start off as a file calerk, but you can be promoted to records manager if you do a good job. Just remember - files always need to be filed ACCURATELY. This job is very secure and quite well paid.
