Damn straight. I work overseas and if I found out the person next to me was someone that would lie, what else would they do? Hmmm... let me think about that for a second. Next, if it isn't a big deal, then they should quit that job-remember, it isn't a big deal. I am stuck next to that person for hours on end and days on end, and in the end those true colors show.

YES YES YES Our country could be in dangered by that. And you do live in the same country

I honestly think it depends on what type of lie, cause lets face it, we all lie! Now if it's the type of lie that could put the nation or anyone for that matter, in danger, YES, go ahead and spill your beans. If it's something trivial about something that happened humpteen years ago and no one really gives a crap about, or will be effected by, then, HUSH HUSH! What could you possibly stand to gain by being a rat? Everyone deserves a second chance, right??

If this person works for the government, and has been give a security clearance, he/she should have had an extensive background check federal, state and local. I have been there, done that. If this person has so much as a traffic ticket it would have been found.
If there are issues that date back to this person being a juvenile, unless charged as an adult, those records are sealed.
If there is something going on now that is illegal, I suggest contacting your local FBI office or your state bureau of investigations. In my position, you must be of the up-most in character. I would expect nothing less in anyone who works in a secure position
