Career Questions and Answers
Career choice, video production or social worker? my dream is to be a stay at home mom, but.......?
Asked by uh huh sure
i gotta prepare and find a career anyway. social work with adoptions and stuff and also editing and video production are the only 2 things that interest me. if i find a husband, and he makes enough money for me to stay at home, i'm going to, with the kids (i want 5 and i want to homeschool), if not, i'll settle for 3 kids going to public school, and work at 1 of the 2 careers above. but until then, which do i choose? video interests me more, but i bet there are more job openings for social work. it's coming close to time to choose as i'm about to graduate high school, so which one?

You may not want to view it as an either or proposition. Many social workers use video as a a part of their practice (either making documentaries about the conditions affecting peoples lives or as a tool in working with clients). At this point you don't really need to close anyone out. Go to a good 4 yr school major in social work but take some film and related courses (consider a minor or double major).
