A sales account executive's duties vary depending on the company and the industry. Basically you are responsible for every aspect of a client's relationship with the supplier.
Sales - gaining sales and growing the product line this customer uses.
Customer Service - handling problems this customer has with your company or vice versa
Training - training the customer and their employees how to sell your product
Work withs - working with the customers sales force showing them the correct procedures to sell your products
Relationship - Maintaining and building relationships with the customer and their KEY customers, on behalf of your employer.

Depends on the company. Typically you are going to be assigned accounts that the company already has. You will provide customer service support to them, while trying to upsell and add services as you can. Additionally, there will typically be cold calling and prospecting in order to add new clients to your firm. Also, there is usually an unlimited earnings potential.
