Can you help me with my cover letter?

This is the job i want to apply for Hitachi America, Ltd., located in Tarrytown, NY, has a one year contract, entry level, Procurement Engineer position available. The main purpose of this position is to manage procurement activities related to international power projects. Duties include managing suppliers and equipment/service contracts; providing engineering support and coordination, preparing commercial documents, reports and procurement cash flows; expediting and oveseeing engineering, QA, logistics, contract execution; negotiating contract terms and conditions; promoting supplier relations and assisting in the development of internal procedures and protocol.
Must have a B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering. Summer or intern experience in power or industrial fields preferred. AutoCAD, Microsoft Office skills essential to position. Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and documents.

My purpose in writing this cover letter is to apply for the position listed on craigslist.org. I have good and effective written and communication skills along with my calm , professional and efficient ways . I have excellent understanding of Microsoft excel and word and has successfully completed certain courses in Electrical Engineering.
I have served in similar positions for other companies as listed on my resume. I am able to ensure the smooth and efficient handling of information by keying in text, entering data into a computer, operating a variety of office machines, and performing other clerical duties.
I have a thorough understanding of all the requirements necessary for a successful job , and my organizational ability allows me to complete my assignments well within the acceptable time frame.
My extensive experience working as a Customer Service Representative ( Call - Center ) at E-Z Pass center in New York, has helped me learn analytical and quality assurance skills and also helped me with improving my organizational and multi-tasking skills .
Enclosed is a copy of my resume that details my professional office skills and strengths which are complemented by a positive , can-do attitude, excellent listening skills , and my commitment to quality and accuracy.

Do not start a cover letter with explaination that it is a cover letter...they know that 's what it is so get rid of that part
Say... I am applying for the position of whatever the title was do not say what was listed on craigs list...they could have many listings and don't know what your'sis from that.
I would like to apply for the position of whatever. I have experience in electrical engineering as I have stated in my resume and I am sure to be a benefit to your organization.
