Nursing is a great career path today, especially with the aging of America. LPN's take, I believe 18 - 24 months, plus you have to pass a state exam and be licensed. LPN salaries are very good for the level of education typically in the $35,000 - $45,000 range to start. There are also many programs now that help LPN's move to RN where the money can get much higher. I would definitely recommend nursing as a career if you like the idea of healthcare. This link provides a good understanding too. http://www.allalliedhealthschools.com/faqs/lpn.php Good Luck. Hope this helped.

About a year is how long it takes, but you mine as well get your RN and skip the LPN route. LPN's do all the work that RN's do for about 40% less money.

Yes, it takes about 1 year full time and 2 years part time. It can be a lot of paperwork but it beats cleaning residents all day!!!

The LPN education is about 12 full months. It is a great way to get started in the field to find if you like nursing. You can always go back to school for your RN later. There are many LVN/LPN to RN programs. You don't mention what part of the country you are in, but LPNs can work in the hospitals, home health or business. The salary depending on experience could be as little as 12-15/hr to 60-70k/year. Good luck.
