What's difference between HR assist, Admin Assistance, and Executive Admin Assistant?
Asked by Richard
Which one pay more? which one has more advance opportunity?

A:
Best Answer:
HR assistant - you assist others who work in the H.R. department. Could be assisting the HR Manager, payroll or benefits. Admin. Assistant - you are an assistant to a manager or other person in management with clerical duties or issues that come up. Executive Admin. Assistant - you are assisting the owner, CEO, CFO, President, V.P. or other executive of the company with any projects or duties that they need you to do. This could include travel planning, meeting scheduling, clerical duties, follow up on projects, what ever it is that the executive needs for you to do for them. In answer to your second question - it would depend on what industry you work in, how large a company it is, and the nature of your duties. Some executive assistants can make upwards of $60K or more for larger companies. A good assistant who takes care of everything for them and they will be integral part of the company.

There's really not a whole lot of difference. The major difference is the "who" you assist. My opinion, the one that has the most opportunity for advancement is the Administrative Assistant, simply because it can be an entry level position. All of these positions can have the opportunity for advancement, it just all depends on the company and your work ethic. Executive Assistants get paid the most, but there isn't a lot of opportunity for advancement. Is it possible? Maybe to Office Manager or Legal Assistant, but some would argue that isn't necessarily advancement. HR Assistants are paid pretty consistently with Administrative Assistants. HR Assistants have the opportunity to advance into Human Resources as they obtain appropriate degrees. Admin Assistants can advance to any number of positions, accounting, procurement, project management, Executive Assistants, Office Managers, etc. etc. As an admin assistant, the general term does allow you to get experience dealing with all different types of work in all different departments.
