At 46 is it too late to study to become a System Administrator?
Asked by Roland
That's going my last question. I am planning to get certified MCSA and get a job as Windows System Administrator. Is my age an issue for that type of job? Should I also get my feets wet using linux? Thanks guys.

Why? Is 46 the age where you can't learn anything? You're fine.

You still got at least 20 years bro. It's not too late. The tech industry is maturing and the average age of an employee is growing yearly. Absolutely add Linux to the mix. If you can, also get some familiarity with Ajax as a web development tool, and if you're real ambitious, look into JBoss as a Web Server. Sys admins manage these configurations too. Hope that helps.

Age is only a state of mind. If you feel old and don't think you want to work, than don't do it.If you fell young and still want to work than do it.

Go for IT - you still are going to work another 20 odd years, so do something you enjoy or you are good at. Linux - dabble but not a serious player as MS has 95% of market. If you are going to be a geek, it will suit you.
