Career Questions and Answers
I have decided to go back to school for medical assisting. Anything I can do to prepare myself?
Asked by bunny
for getting used to giving shots and drawing blood? Or anything else I need to prepare for. The college I am going to will not be starting the program till 2009. I signed up for it but have to wait because they send us all through together.

Just a word to the wise that there are not supposed to be many jobs for the MA (or medical biller or coder). Most suggest instead considering a school for lpn (licensed practical nurse). Perhaps the local county vo-tech school has such a program if interested. Please steer clear from those expensive private schools. And when in school for any type of allied health course, it can certainly help to form a study group as well as looking at easier to read books (if even children's books :) that speak in layman's terms.

Nah, just wait for school to start to worry about it.
The only think that will get you used to it is practicing on people, and you'll do that in school.
Btw, why wait so long? Just find another program that starts in the spring!
