If I work in child care now, would going to get my CNA license be bettering myself to work as a CNA?

The pay is better and they are always in need here in my small town. I figure it would be experience till I get my med assist degree.

the best part in taking exams like that is having the proper training, experience and knowledge... it gives u and edge among others who are taking the exams...

It takes really special people to work in the medical field...especially ones that will probably be working in nursing homes. It would be very good for you to get this. It will open the doors to more that is offered, medication aid, nursing and like you said...med asst.
Nursing homes are always in need of a very caring staff..it's all too often that some just don't care and don't give the proper treatment.
I admire you for doing what you do with children and for going into the medical field..something I've though of, but know I could never do - I don't have the patience.

yeah, i think it would be pretty decent. just be careful not to get any back injury though. im a cna, and the dirty part of the job doesnt bother me as much. however, i'm always afraid that i can get injured at work because many of the residents are heavier than i am. sometimes, helping them transfer is so difficult but yet has to be done.
cna certificate classes are about 1 month to 3 months, i think i worked on mine for 1 and a half month. the pay is pretty decent but they don't allow any over time
