As a haulage contractor, I would be amazed if someone turned up for a driving job wearing a suit!! I'd try something clean, tidy but casual.

A:
I wouldn't wear a suit.

As long as its not your birthday suit , you should be fine

A:
The usual rule of thumb - interview-wise - is to dress as you would be expected to dress at work. Are you going to drive in a suit? -- but I really see no harm, if that's what you want to do.

A:
No not at all at least you are giving out the right impression that you are capable of caring for yourself. But if I was going for this job I would go for something a bit more casual as this job will most likely not entail you to wear a suit so why wear one to the interview.

A:
I don't think so. I think it shows pride in your appearence and proffessionalism. This means when you are driving you are going to be a safe competant driver and not endanger the goods, yourself and other people.

A:
Acutally, mature usually means older. However, I always go to interviews dressed really nicely. It shows them you are taking the position seriously and really want it.

i think it would be nice. It would maybe show them that you have a little class about you. They look at first impressions . Good luck sounds like to neat job. We live in the .U.S. and my husband is a truck driver.

Wear a suit It will show you are serious and mature, I would rather someone in a suit than a scruffy git turned up in ripped jeans and dirty t shirt. What else would you wear if you didn't wear a suit? I think that's what they meant when they said 'mature'.
Answered by Rob T

A:
Wear the suit, it shows respect and that you care about how you look, and if you care about that you will care about the job.

A:
They're looking for a grown-up, responsible, sensible and trustworthy driver. There are in fact some transport companies that make their drivers wear collar and tie! There's nothing wrong in wearing a suit to an interview, it shows you're taking things seriously and you're doing them the courtesy of dressing neatly. (Don't forget to polish the shoes, I had a colleague who always looked at a candidate's shoes and considered that if he couldn't be bothered to polish them he wouldn't be bothered to do the job properly)

A:
I would not wear a suit. Casual slacks and a clean shirt should be ok.

Better than a stained wifebeater singlet, short shorts and pluggers (thongs).
