What sort of books do I need to study in order to get a job as a Software Quality Assurance?

Unix/Linux how can I teach myself these operating systems? Is it hard to get a job in QA with very little experience? Please help with lots of info and websites that I can visit! I am ready for a change:-)

Well, the first step in learning to use a whole different operating system is to get it into your computer. But if you're really not into risking I suggest you dual-boot. :) Maybe the easiest solution of Linux distribution at the moment is Ubuntu which also ships anywhere on the globe for free. :) I can guarantee you that you won't have problems with it because the things you learn in the new environment will fall into place accordingly. :) Software Quality Assurance? The only thing you need to know in order to assure someone of the quality of software is a programming language because learning that you will just go through all the steps there are and you'll figure out for yourself what a Software Quality Assurance employee's job is. :)

You don't mention anything about your experience or education. Do you have a degree? What type of experience do you have? Your best bet is to go onto some of the major Internet job boards and check which requirements most companies have for this position. I'll bet that you need a degree in IT or something similar, if you don't already have one. I'd be very surprised if you could even get an interview for this type of position by reading books.
