Not at any type of company that does back ground checks but proabbaly would not have a problem getting a job at McDonald's or something.

Maybe, but probably not before the military finds you first and puts you in jail for going AWOL.

I think you would be better of facing your punishment by going back to the army, rather than them finding out the hard way.

You can't hide from the government.. they will find you eventually, you will need a job or a place to live. Unless you plan to go without a computer and live out on the cold, snowy streets. Turn yourself in and just get the punishment over with even if its a dishonorable discharge its better than playing like the Fugitive the rest of your days.

why violate military law by going awol ? you would just make it real hard on your self if you did and the company found out most likely they would fire you .

I suggest you man up and report back to your base before your situation gets any worse than it already is.

A:
I not sure, I am A contractor for A DOD agency , and I have not been to drill for some time and I get out of the reserve in 4 months but AWOL, is different, this could have been differently instead of going AWOL if you have just gone, I've been to Iraq twice when I was active duty and I'm still here, I would suggust just going back and getting it over with before you get caught and have to go to jail or something which wont sit well with any employer. do the right thing

A:
Usually you can't. Most companies do background checks before they hire. If it hasn't been long since you left the military (30 days), you can usually go back without suffering any severe consequences (although they will never tell you that in boot camp) so that could be an option too. Good luck!

So when they ask you what have you been doing for the last 2 years, I dont see anything on your resume, what will you say? I was visiting Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan? Whatever you do, do NOT come to Canada. Canada is currently NOT accepting military cowards.
