Eh… the best questions to ask are those that make the candidate think. Anyone can tell you what their strengths and weaknesses are, what they are good at, or their accomplishments. Use situational questions; you can find examples by searching the web. I have attached some example questions.
Don’t make the interview easy – make them think.
Situational questions
Employers may ask what you would do in a particular situation. You can prepare by thinking through your response to possible challenges that the role might encounter.
Sometimes it’s also valuable to talk about how you successfully dealt with similar past experiences.
A co-worker has unfairly criticised your judgement several times, and has obviously been talking to others in the team about this. What would you do?
A customer makes a complaint about the level of service that you have provided them. What would you do?
Your manager has made a decision with which you completely disagree. How would you deal with the situation?
You are involved in a team project, and one of your work colleagues is not pulling their weight. What would you do?
You are involved in a high pressure project, and suddenly you are finding it difficult to balance this responsibility along with your regular duties. How would you deal with the situation?
