Hi I got promoted to Safety Committee manager assistant. But, how do I become a team leader?

Hi I just become manager assistant because, one employee senior rank she is leaving & she wants me to take her place because, I am a hard worker & I am also senior rank. My boss he tell's me that I am ready & he feels confident with me. There were other 15 safety committee members but, the 2 managers they choose me instead. The real question is "how do I be or be a team leader"? I am nervous & this is the first time that I become a senior rank. Thank you so much & any advice will be great!

I have always liked managers who are great listeners. You definitely need your peers support, so be open-minded, schedule a regular meeting where your peers can express their opinions, and always rely on facts when making decisions rather than feelings. Good Luck and Congrats on your promotion!
